VAD Technologies supports CPI’s CIO Leadership Awards 2023

CIOs from across the Middle East were celebrated at the CIO Leadership Awards Night 2023, which were hosted by CPI Media Group.
VAD Technologies, in cooperation with Pure Storage, supported the exclusive gathering of Award-Winning CIOs from the Region, as GOLD SPONSOR of the Event.

The CIO Leadership Awards 2023 celebrate the thought-leaders who are constantly striving for new innovative practices designed to champion and pioneer change.
The event was held at the stunning Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, The Palm Dubai and attracted participation from the region’s key thought leaders and decision makers.
 
CNME Editor Mark Forker moderated a panel discussion entitled ‘State of Play: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities in the IT ecosystem in the Middle East’ was joined by:
Kinda Baydoun, Manager, Field Channel Sales, Middle East, Veeam,
Charbel Zreiby, Director, Channel Presales, Middle East, Turkey & Africa, DELL Technologies,
Dr. Jassim Haji, President, International Group of Artificial Intelligence and
VAD Technologies’ General Manager, Mario M. Veljovic
 
The Audience had the opportunity to listen to a broad range of differing insights, perspectives and predictions shared by the panel during the discussion, but the general consensus amongst them all was the increased impact and role that is going to be played by AI over the next 12 months.
In addition to this, Mario believes there is 'no limit' to what Saudi Arabia can achieve on their quest to reshape their economy and become a global leader in technology and innovation.
Kinda highlighted the ongoing challenges facing companies in terms of talent and skills, stressing that a huge gap remains, not only regionally, but globally.
Charbel talked about the complex and nuanced nature of the security challenges facing businesses across the region, and called for enterprises to be more proactive in terms of their approach to cybersecurity.
Dr. Jassim suggested that many businesses need to have more 'independence' when it comes to the suite of technologies and solutions they use, and stressed the need for them to have more autonomy when dealing with a crisis.
 
The night saw great representation across key industry verticals with CIOs recognised for demonstrating excellence in their roles and helping their organisations fulfil key objectives .
